A woman in Cape Carteret has been charged with DWI after being involved in an accident. The accident happened Wednesday night on N.C.. The woman lost control of the van she was driving which flipped several times across the highway. The vehicle finally stopped in a parking lot.
Her four children were in the vehicle at the time of the accident. All of the children were injured in the accident and two of them were critically injured. One of the children was thrown out of the vehicle and ended up stuck underneath the flipped vehicle. All the children were under the age of 3.
The mother was injured but did not have to be taken to the hospital. Other charges will likely be filed against the mother.
