In Charlotte, NC a 2-year-old boy was killed in a car accident on I-77 between the Remount Road and West Boulevard exits. This occurred around 1 a.m. Saturday morning. The accident occurred when two vehicles on the interstate decided to race each other. The 2 year-old was in one of the vehicles that was involved in the race. Both vehicles crashed in the median after one of the vehicles hit a guardrail.
The toddler was in a car seat at the time of the accident. The driver of the vehicle and another passenger were injured. The passenger was listed in serious condition. Three people were taken to the hospital as a result of the accident. The drivers of both vehicles have been charged with DWI.
The drivers were identified as Kelvin Nichols and Randal Jn-Baptiste. Nichols is the father of the toddler was killed in the accident.
