Law enforcement agencies across North Carolina conducted the Operation Slow Down campaign recently which lasted a week. The campaign ended Sunday. The goal of the campaign was to crack down on speeding drivers. The numbers of the campaign are now starting to be released.
A total of 13,667 speeding tickets were issued as well as 685 DWI citations issued. Several other traffic violations were charged as well. In Western North Carolina 30 citations were issued for DWI along with 791 citations for speeding.
