The Matthews police Department has just released that one person was seriously injured in a car accident Thursday afternoon.
It was around 3:00 p.m., and the driver was at the intersection of Idlewild Road and Thompson Road, almost in Mecklenburg County.
The details are still unclear, and the investigation reports are not yet complete.
The Matthews Police Department has not released whether or not alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident or not yet.
The results won’t be out until the BAC level of the victim is tested, but he is currently suffering life-threatening injuries and in serious critical condition.
He is being held at Carolinas Medical Center, at the Main location for treatment.
What was reported was the condition of the vehicle the man was driving. The sedan’s front end was completely totaled, and the front windshield and three of the four windows were broken from the impact of the accident. The car had to be towed away.
