A teenager who fatally struck a pedestrian in April of 2012 was sentenced in Union County this week. A pedestrian was walking home on the shoulder of the road when the teenager hit him then fled the scene. The teen was intoxicated at the time. The vehicle was traveling at 56 mph at the time of the accident. The pedestrian died as a result.

The teenager reached a plea deal in which she was found guilty of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failing to stop at the scene of a crash where a death occurred. She will receive two years of supervised probation and has to complete 75 hours of community service. Additionally she will have to wear an alcohol monitoring device and pay restitution.
