The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police crime lab recently met the standards to achieve one of the highest levels of accreditation. The crime lab has officially met the standards to have international accreditation. Currently no other crime lab in North Carolina has this distinction and only 250 crime labs in the world have international accreditation.

In order to achieve international accreditation the crime lab must meet standards for evidence handling, lab security, evidence security, and qualifications of analyst. All labs have standards that must be met in these areas but the international accreditation process requires these standards to be elevated. Having these standards in place helps to ensure the process is as accurate and reliable as possible.

Currently the Charlotte-Mecklenburg crime lab test evidence for around 12,000 cases every year. This includes testing blood in DWI cases, fingerprint processing, DNA testing, drug identification and fire debris analysis.

We defend DWIs and DUIs in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, Pineville, Cornelius, Huntersville, Lake Norman, Pineville, Matthews, Mint Hill, and UNCC.
