The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police department set up a DWI checkpoint over the weekend in northeast Charlotte. The checkpoint was specifically located on Sharon Amity Road and started at 11 p.m. and ran up until 3 a.m. on September 21st. Specifically out of 11 arrests that were made during this checkpoint 5 related to DWI. Police made other arrests and issued citations for various other offenses as well as a result of this checkpoint.
