Davidson County recently released their arrest numbers during the ‘Booze it & Lose It’ campaign over this past holiday season. The campaign ran from December 7th through January 2nd and was aimed at keeping intoxicated drivers off the road. The holiday season is known for having a higher rate of intoxicated drivers on the road, probably largely due to number of parties during the season.
Law enforcement set up 52 checkpoints and conducted 35 saturation patrols during the campaign. Officer charged 30 people with DWI during this period. 4 of those 30 people charged were underage DWI charges. Officers also charged several other traffic violations and made 88 felony arrests.
A total of 3,147 DWI charges were issued statewide during the campaign period.
