Wilmington Police made an arrest for DWI this past Sunday night on Ivocet Drive. Normally this would not be unusual as it appears to be a typical DWI case, except for the fact that driver was arrested was a battalion chief with the Wilmington Fire Department.

James Casteen, the battalion chief, is currently not working in his position and is using accrued leave. The job requires him to have a valid driver’s license so he will not be able to return to work until he can get his license back. If and when he may be able to get his license back will depend on several factors, including the severity of the DWI offense and if has had previous DWI conviction. This information is known at this time, but he is due to appear in court on February 18.
