As an update to a previous blog, the attorney from Raleigh, James Crouch, was indicted on several charges for altering court records has decided to plead guilty. He will have a hearing regarding sentencing for the crimes in December. Part of his punishment will be that he is disbarred and will have to hand over his current cases to other attorneys, per part of his agreement with the prosecution.
Other evidence that was revealed during a testimony by a special agent with the State Bureau of Investigation revealed that clients paid Crouch and extra $750 to have their conviction backdated. The charges he is faced with could carry a maximum of 13 years in prison.
