A trucking company located in Roseboro, NC is being investigated by the Feds. This is the same trucking who employed a truck driver who hit and killed a young girl while intoxicated. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration began its investigation of the company two days after the driver hit the young girl. The driver hit a 7 year old girl who was getting off a school bus then fled the scene. The girl later died from injuries sustained in the accident.
Investigators are thoroughly investigating the trucking company including its practice of hiring people and compliance. The driver who hit the girl had previous drug and DWI convictions on his record. The convictions go back over a decade with a DWI conviction in 2008. The truck driver is currently charged with DWI while operating a commercial vehicle, involuntary manslaughter and felony hit and run.
