A police pursuit occurred over the weekend in Wake County. The driver, John Michael Vincent Hyatt, was speeding by driving 106 mph in a 70 mph zone. Police tried to pull him over but he fled. After leading police on a pursuit from Zebulon to Raleigh the driver lost control of his vehicle. He crashed in trees after hitting guardrail and flipping his vehicle over.
A police vehicle who was pursuing him had to quickly hit is brakes in order to avoid hitting Hyatt. In doing so it caused the police vehicle to spin and hit another police vehicle that was involved in the pursuit. The drivers of all three vehicles sustained minor injuries.
Hyatt has been charged with felony fleeing and elduing, DWI, speeding, and property damage.
