A tractor-trailer driver from Lincolnton, NC was charged with DUI in Claiborne County Tennessee after an accident. The man from Lincolnton was driving a tractor trailer on U.S. Highway 25E when the tuck overturned after he was not able to properly negotiate turning around a curve in the road. The accident happened around 1 p.m. this past Tuesday. The accident blocked both lanes of the highway for several hours.
The driver of the truck had to be transported to the hospital. There was another passenger in the truck but he did not receive treatment. The police charged the driver with DUI along with failure to maintain due care, possession of alcohol in a commercial vehicle, registration violation and financial responsibility. The incident is still being investigated.
