The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police department conducted another DWI checkpoint as part of the statewide Booze It and Lose It campaign. The goal of the campaign is to detect and deter drivers who may be drinking and driving during the Halloween holiday. This checkpoint was conducted on Brookshire Boulevard and lasted four hours from 11 p.m. until 3 a.m. on Saturday.

The checkpoint yielded 10 arrests for DWI. The police also issued many other citations during the checkpoint. It is likely the police department will be setting up more of these checkpoints through the end of the month.
